Concealed handgun permit information is NOT public record. It is available only to law enforcement upon their request. We cannot discuss another person’s permit status with anyone but the permit holder.
Yes. A handgun purchase certificate is required by Nebraska Revised Statute §69-2403 for purchases of handguns in Nebraska, however, in 2010, the Nebraska Legislature passed a law which exempts concealed handgun permit holders from this requirement.
Per Nebraska Revised Statute §69-2404, any person desiring to purchase, lease, rent, or receive transfer of a handgun shall apply with the chief of police or sheriff of the applicant's place of residence for a certificate.
