Auto Fraud
The Auto Fraud Division of the Nebraska State Patrol, a support Division within Investigative Services, was formed to track stolen vehicles and educate individuals in the identification of false documents. In addition to investigative functions, the division promotes anti-auto fraud and public awareness programs and provides certification training to vehicle title inspectors.
The Nebraska State Patrol Auto Fraud Division works closely with the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles, and the Nebraska Department of Revenue to ensure that all vehicles owned by Nebraska residents are properly titled and registered. Through “Operation Cross the Line”, the three state agencies have returned more than a million dollars to state coffers, by ensuring the proper registration of vehicles.
