Pre-planning is credited for relatively low numbers of traffic citations during Sunday evening’s special enforcement operation in Greeley County.

The effort coincided with a tanking event and concert near Spalding. Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) observed a high percentage of designated drivers and light traffic on the highways in the area.

NSP did make one arrest for driving under the influence (DUI) and also issued citations for speeding (2) and minor in possession (1).

The enforcement effort was made possible thanks in part to a grant for $2,200 from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
