Trooper Kyle McAcy #302 has officially been added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C.

Trooper McAcy was killed in the line of duty on February 17, 2025. This week, Trooper McAcy’s family has been accompanied by Troopers during Police Week in the nation’s capital. Services included the Candlelight Vigil on Wednesday evening on the National Mall and the National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service today on the west lawn of the United States Capitol Building.

Trooper McAcy’s name was read along with nearly 200 others during the memorial service today. His parents, Kevin and Teresa McAcy, and siblings, Collin and Bethany, participated in the service by placing a flower in a wreath along with other survivor families.

“This week has been an opportunity to surround Trooper McAcy’s family with love and support as his name was added to the memorial of our nation’s heroes who gave everything in service to communities across the country,” said Colonel Bryan Waugh, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “From the first moments after Kyle’s death, his family and our NSP family have all felt incredible support from Nebraskans and beyond. No family should ever have to walk this terrible journey alone, and we remain committed to supporting the McAcy family forever.”

Trooper Kyle McAcy is the 13th Nebraska State Trooper listed on the National Law Enforcement Memorial. Today, on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, we remember and honor all 13 Troopers who gave everything in service to the people of Nebraska.
