Nebraska State Patrol Begins Largest Training Class in Five Years
A new class of recruits has started their training to become Nebraska State Troopers. The 23 recruits represent the largest starting class in the last five years. Training for Camp 72 began today at the NSP Training Academy in Grand Island.
“Today is a great day for these recruits and for the State Patrol,” said Colonel Bryan Waugh, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “It’s a proud day to start with a large class, but today is just the beginning. These recruits have shown the drive to serve the people of Nebraska. Over the next six months, they’ll receive the best training in Nebraska to equip them to serve with dedication and professionalism.”

The Nebraska State Patrol basic recruit camp consists of hundreds of hours of classroom and practical instruction, including life-like scenarios designed to simulate situations troopers encounter while serving Nebraska. Camp 72 is scheduled to graduate on December 19, 2025.
