As baseball fans go bananas this weekend, Nebraska State Troopers will be working to keep roads safe around two Savannah Bananas games in Lincoln.
The Savannah Bananas World Tour comes to Lincoln with a game at Haymarket Park tonight and another game Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Both games are expected to be packed with fans ready to experience the Bananas’ unique brand of baseball.
“This is an exciting weekend in Lincoln and a one-of-a-kind event at Memorial Stadium on Saturday,” said Colonel Bryan Waugh. “There will be families from around Nebraska and beyond coming to Lincoln for the games. All drivers should be on the lookout for pedestrians in downtown Lincoln and keep their attention on the road.”
Troopers in eastern Nebraska will be working overtime as part of a special effort to keep roadways safe surrounding both games, with a focus on impaired and distracted driving. This effort is made possible thanks in part to grant funding from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
