Troopers Complete Effort Around Adams County Fair

Hastings, NEB.

Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have completed a special enforcement effort in conjunction with the Adams County Fair in Hastings.

During the effort, which was run from July 15 through July 19, troopers arrested two people for impaired driving. In addition to the arrests for impaired driving, troopers issued citations for speeding (16), no seat belt (2), open alcohol container (1), and driving under suspension (1).

“County fairs offer showcases of our great communities across Nebraska,” said Colonel Bryan Waugh, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “As our communities gather to celebrate what makes them great, planning to have a sober driver helps ensure that memories from this summer focus on these awesome events, rather than a tragedy on the road.”

This effort and several others surrounding county fairs this summer are made possible thanks in part to grant funding from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
