Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol found several alcohol-related violations during a special enforcement effort around Oregon Trail Days in Scotts Bluff County. Troopers arrested five people for impaired driving during the weekend event.
In addition to the five arrests for driving under the influence, troopers also issued citations for open alcohol containers (7) and minors in possession of alcohol (6). Additional citations were issued for speeding (35), driving under suspension (1), and improper child restraint (3).
The effort corresponded with Oregon Trail Days, which ran from July 9 through July 12. Troopers worked overtime as part of this effort, made possible thanks in part to grant funding from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
