NSP Efforts Around County Fairs Continue This Weekend

Lincoln, NE

Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol remain on patrol in communities across Nebraska as summer events continue. This week, troopers are working overtime in and around the Lancaster County Fair, the Scotts Bluff County Fair, and the Czech Festival in Wilber.

“County fairs and local festivals showcase the history and traditions of our great Nebraska communities,” said Colonel Bryan Waugh, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “As these meaningful events continue, our troopers are working overtime to keep roadways safe. This has been a great summer across Nebraska. Our goal is for every driver to make the choice to drive sober and keep the memories focused on these events, rather than a DUI or a tragic crash.”

The Scottsbluff County Fair runs through Saturday, August 1. The Czech Festival starts tomorrow and ends on Sunday, August 2. The Lancaster County Fair begins today and runs through August 8.

These are the latest of several special efforts in communities across the state this summer. These efforts are made possible thanks in part to grant funding from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
