Jefferson County Narcotics Investigation Leads to Arrest

Fairbury, Neb.

Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol, working with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, have arrested one person as part of a narcotics investigation in southeast Nebraska. 

Wednesday, investigators served a search warrant at a residence in Plymouth, Nebraska. During the search, investigators found approximately 12 pounds of marijuana, 4 pounds of THC edibles, 286 grams of THC wax, 386 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, 69 doses of MDMA, and 25 grams of suspected methamphetamine. 

Troopers also located the resident of the Plymouth address while he was driving in Beatrice. Troopers performed a traffic stop and an NSP K9 detected the odor of a controlled substance inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle located a small amount of suspected methamphetamine. 

The driver, Steven Carel, 38, of Plymouth, was arrested on several charges related to possession of controlled substances and possession with intent to distribute. He was lodged in Jefferson County Jail.
