NSP Plans Special Enforcement for Otoe County

September 13, 2017 (Lincoln, Neb.)  — In an effort to reduce alcohol-related crashes and the
potential for injuries or fatalities, the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) Headquarters Troop – Lincoln will
conduct a special enforcement in Otoe County this weekend.

The enforcement will run from September 15-17 in conjunction with Nebraska City’s AppleJack
Festival. The annual festival attracts more than 50,000 visitors from across the region.

Troopers will conduct saturation patrols and vehicle checks in and around Nebraska City during the
enforcement period.

“The AppleJack Festival is a great event for Southeast Nebraska,” said Captain Lance Rogers,
Commander, Troop H. “We encourage drivers to voluntarily follow traffic safety laws, wear seat
belts, and never drive impaired or distracted.”

The special enforcement is made possible thanks in part to a grant for $2,375 from the Nebraska
Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
