NSP Completes July 4th Holiday Enforcement

JULY 6, 2017 (Lincoln, Neb.)  — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) arrested three people for Driving
Under the Influence during special enforcement efforts over the July 4th holiday.

The special enforcement, which ran from July 3-5, placed an emphasis on removing impaired drivers from
Nebraska roads in an effort to reduce the potential for serious injury or fatality crashes. Troopers and
communications specialists across Nebraska put in overtime hours during the enforcement thanks in part to a
$15,960 grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office (NDOT-HSO).

The follow citation numbers reflect statewide activity by NSP during the July 4th holiday enforcement.

1 – Minor In Possession

180 – Speeding

14 – Driving Under Suspension

6 – No Proof of Insurance

4 – Arrests for Drug Possession

28 – Motorist Assists

16 – No Seat Belt

5 – No Child Restraint
