Special Enforcement Removes Impaired Drivers

(Grand island, Neb.)  — Three impaired drivers were taken off the road and another 69 citations and warnings were issued during a special weekend enforcement conducted by the Nebraska State Patrol in Hall County.

During the special enforcement, troopers conducted high visibility patrols in the evening hours of Saturday, May 20 and the early morning hours of Sunday, May 21.

In addition to the three Driving While Intoxicated arrests, troopers issued citations and warning for a variety of other offenses including Speeding (10), Driving Under Suspension (4), Drug Possession (2) and No Seat Belt (4).

Overtime hours utilized by troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol Troop C Headquarters- Grand Island to participate in the special enforcement were paid for thanks in part to a $2,375 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS)
