Lancaster County Enforcement Results in Five DWI Arrests

October 24, 2016 (Lincoln, Neb.)  — Five drivers were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) during a special enforcement effort held over the weekend in Lancaster County.

The special enforcement, which included high visibility patrols and a DUI checkpoint, was held beginning in the evening hours of Friday, Oct. 21 and continuing into the early morning hours of Saturday, Oct. 22.

In addition to the five DWI arrests, troopers issued citations and warnings for driving under suspension (5), misdemeanor drug possession (3), open container (4), minor in possession of alcohol (1), speeding (3), no seat belt (7) and child restraint violation (1).

The special enforcement was paid for thanks in part to a $2,340 grant from the Department of Roads Highway Safety Office. ###
