Conference Focuses on Ending Crimes of Power & Control


Sept. 26, 2016 (Lincoln, Neb.)  —  The Nebraska State Patrol in conjunction with the Nebraska Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence, will host the “No More- Crimes of Power and Control,” training conference, Sept. 28-29 at Innovation Campus in Lincoln.

The latest technologies and advancements in the investigation of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking are among the topics to be discussed during the conference. Participants will hear from national speakers on combating and recognizing human trafficking, in addition to the national domestic violence fatality review initiative. Sessions will also be provided on coordinated response to sexual assault, prosecuting of sexual assault in the military and identifying the predominate aggressor.

Conference participants will include prosecutors, advocates, medical personnel, victim assistance programs, corrections officers, campus personnel, law enforcement, and individuals working with victims or offenders of domestic and sexual violence. Funding for the conference is provided by a grant awarded by the Nebraska Crime Commission. ###
