Troop B Wraps Up Special Enforcement

September 21, 2016 (Norfolk, Neb.)  —  Nebraska State Patrol Troop B- Norfolk recently completed a two-month special enforcement effort thanks in part to a grant from the Healthy Communities Initiative (HCI).

The special enforcement effort, which took place from mid-July through mid-September, included high visibility patrols and vehicle checks in Burt, Cuming, Madison, and Stanton Counties in an effort to reduce the potential for serious injury and fatality crashes.

During the effort, troopers made three arrests for Driving Under the Influence and issued citations and warnings for speeding (17), open container (1), minor in possession of alcohol (3), misdemeanor drug possession (5) and no seat belt (3).

“We want to thank the Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department and the Healthy Communities Initiative for partnering with us on this enforcement effort,” said Captain Paul Hattan, Commander Troop B- Norfolk. “By making our troopers visible and available we hope to gain voluntary compliance with all traffic safety laws and in turn make our roadways safe for everyone.”  ###
