Special Enforcement Planned in Adams, Hall Counties

(Grand Island, Neb.)-  In a continuing effort to reduce the potential for serious injury and fatality crashes, the Nebraska State Patrol, in conjunction with the Adams and Hall County Sheriff’s Offices, will conduct a special enforcement over the weekend.

High visibility patrols and DUI checkpoints will be carried out in and around the cities of Grand Island and Hastings on Friday, July 22 continuing into Saturday, July 23. The special enforcement effort is paid for thanks in part to a $1,550 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS).

“Increased traffic volume is always a possibility this time of year as we see a lot of events and activities,” said Captain Chris Kolb, Commander Troop C-Grand Island. “We want everyone to enjoy themselves and to do so in a safe responsible manner.”

Motorists are reminded to always wear their seat belt, obey the posted speed limits, pay special attention in work zones, and never drive impaired or distracted. ###
