(Lincoln, NE)

The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) has completed special enforcement operations focused on drunk driving in conjunction with the Thayer County Fair in Deshler and Czech Days in Wilber.

During the Czech Days enforcement, which ran on August 3-4 in Saline County, troopers arrested one person for driving under the influence and issued several other citations. Troopers performed high-visibility patrols as part of the operation.

In addition to the arrest for drunk driving, troopers also issued citations for open container (5), speeding (4), and driving under suspension (1).

The operation was made possible thanks in part to a grant for $2,200 from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.

The enforcement surrounding the final days of the Thayer County Fair resulted in no arrests for drunk driving and one citation for speeding. Troopers responded to a car-deer crash and also performed two motorist assists.

That operation was made possible thanks in part to a grant for $550 from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
