Alcohol Inspections Held in Brown, Rock, Keya Paha Counties

Nebraska State Patrol investigators have completed a series of alcohol inspections in north-central Nebraska. The inspections were conducted at businesses in Brown, Rock, and Keya Paha counties, as part of an effort supported by Area Substance Abuse Prevention.

On Thursday, June 2, investigators checked eight businesses in Brown County. One business sold alcohol to a minor. The compliance rate was 87%.

On Thursday, June 16, investigators checked nine businesses in Brown, Rock, and Keya Paha counties. All nine businesses refused to sell to a minor for a compliance rate of 100%.

In total, 17 businesses were inspected with one selling alcohol to a minor. All businesses checked the minor’s ID.

The effort was made possible thanks in part to grant NH28CE002996 from the Office of National Drug Control Policy, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Businesses that sell alcohol to a minor are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to a minor are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor.
