Went straight from retirement with NSP to the legislature and has been there since. 37 years with NSP, 21 with the Unicameral. Public Servant for nearly six decades. 2017 Blue Mass

The 2017 Blue Mass will honor all active, retired, and deceased law enforcement; fire & rescue; and corrections personnel.  Mass will be celebrated by Bishop James D. Conley. Bishop Conley will have a special blessing following Mass of all Emergency Vehicles.  Additional information is on the attachment.

(*) Police Honor Guard with flags, shotguns, firefighter fire-ax, & bagpipes ... Nebraska State Patrol, Lincoln Police Department, Lancaster County Sheriffs Office, Lincoln Fire & Rescue

(*) 4th Degree Catholic Knights of Columbus Honor Guard with swords

(*) Bishop Conley as the celebrant & homilist   

(*) Reading of names of deceased sworn & non-sworn personnel who have died in the last year to pray for and remember their service

(*) Catholic Mass to pray for Law Enforcement & Emergency Services personnel

(*) Children's choir from Cathedral Grade School

(*) Blessing of Emergency Vehicles after Mass

 

PLEASE NOTE: This event is for sworn and civilian employees of all faiths. ALL are invited to come and pray for law enforcement and emergency services personnel.

Saturday, May 13  - Vigil Walk is at 2000 hours at Omaha Police Department Central

 

Monday, May 15 @ 1100 hours - Police Memorial Service Ceremony at Douglas County Sheriff's Office, 156 & Maple Streets

 

Troop B:

 

Monday, May 15 - Norfolk law enforcement appreciation lunch in honor of memorial week, Norfolk Mission at 1200 hours.

 

Monday, May 15 - Trooper Farber’s memorial service at 1830 hours at Decatur cemetery.

Tuesday, May 16 - Trooper Matejka memorial service at 1930 hours at Prospect Hills cemetery.  

Wednesday, May 24 - Trooper Hansen’s memorial service at 1100 hours at the Valentine cemetery (this is the week after due to family schedule)

 

Troop C:

 

Friday, May 19 - Law Enforcement Memorial (State Fair Boulevard), Grand Island at 1000 hours

 

Troop D:

 

Monday, May 15 - Memorial Park, North Platte at 1200 hours

Tuesday, May 16 - Court House, Holdrege, at 1100 hours

 

Troop E:

 

Tuesday, May 16 - Nebraska State Patrol Troop E Headquarters Office, Scottsbluff at 1300 hours

Wednesday, May 17 - Gordon Police Department at 1000 hours

 

Troop H:

Monday, May 15 - Trooper Robert Chab memorial service at 1300 hours, Falls City Catholic Cemetery

Sunday, May 21, - Trooper Koerber memorial service at 1100 hours at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Nebraska City.

 

 

Troop D- North Platte NEWS
Nebraska State Patrol Sergeant Robert Veal is a member of a local board in North Platte  which is raising  funds to produce a Law Enforcement Memorial at Iron Horse Park in North Platte.  The goal is to have the memorial co-located with the Veterans Memorial in North Platte.  Please contact Sergeant Bob Veal for more information robert.veal@nebraska.gov.
