March 28, 2018 (Grand Island, Neb.)  — During the evening hours of Friday, March 23, troopers and investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol conducted alcohol inspections in Adams and Clay counties.

A total of 60 businesses were inspected. Five businesses sold alcohol to a minor for a non-compliance rate of 8%. Three businesses did not check the minor’s ID.

The businesses which sold alcohol to a minor were:

Walgreens #3269 – Hastings

Discount City (S. Burlington) – Hastings

Fill N Chill (Parklane Dr.)– Hastings

Ninja Steak Sushi House – Hastings

Businesses that fail alcohol inspections are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission and the clerk who sold alcohol to a minor is cited for procuring alcohol for a minor.

This operation was made possible thanks in part to a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
