Lt Von Minden Graduates from FBI National Academy

 

December 15, 2017 (Quantico, VA) — Nebraska State Patrol Lieutenant Kurt Von Minden graduated from the 270th Class of the FBI’s National Academy on Friday, December 15, during a ceremony in Quantico, Virginia. Von Minden is part of a class of 222 students, from 21 countries, that completed 11 weeks of study as part of the FBI National Academy.

 

President Donald Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions attended today’s graduation ceremony. “I am here not only to congratulate you, but to honor you for your courage and for your devotion,” said President Trump.

 

Lt. Von Minden has been with NSP for 19 years, and is currently assigned to State Headquarters, in the Fusion Center in Lincoln. He has previously served in both the Traffic and Carrier Enforcement Division. He has previously been stationed in Troop E, B, D, H, and District 2 of the Carrier Enforcement Division. He has also served as a range officer (2000-2014), an SFST Instructor, and was a member of the NSP SWAT Team.

 

Participants in the National Academy are leaders and managers of state, local, country, tribal, military, federal, and international law enforcement agencies. Participation is by invitation only, through a nomination process, and participants are drawn from every U.S. state and territory, as well as from international partner nations.

 

The FBI National Academy offers courses of study in: Criminal Law, Behavioral Science, Forensic Science, Understanding Terrorism/Terrorist Mindsets, Leadership, Communication, and Health/Fitness. Officers participate in a wide range of leadership and specialized training, where they share ideas, techniques, and experiences with each other, creating lifelong partnerships. Students take 17 hours of college accredited classes while as the Academy, which are accredited through the University of Virginia.
