State Patrol Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting

(Louisville, Neb.)- The Nebraska State Patrol, in conjunction with the Cass County Attorney’s Office, is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Louisville in Cass County.

At approximately 7:12pm, Wednesday, Sept. 21, a Cass County deputy stopped a vehicle near First and Cherry Street in Louisville. The vehicle matched the description of a vehicle earlier reported as being driven recklessly in the area.

The male driver exited the vehicle and approached the deputy. A confrontation ensued and the Deputy fired his service weapon, fatally wounding the subject.

An autopsy will be conducted later today. The names of the victim and the deputy will be released pending further investigation.

Per state law, a grand jury will be convened to investigate the incident.  ###
