Troop E Special Enforcement Removes Impaired Drivers from Roadways

(Scottsbluff, Neb.)-  Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol Troop E- Scottsbluff took 25 impaired drivers off the road during a three month long special enforcement effort designed to reduce the potential for serious injury and fatality crashes.

From April through June, the Nebraska State Patrol, in conjunction with the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office conducted vehicle checks and high visibility enforcements thanks in part to a nearly $14,000 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS).

In addition to the 25 impaired driving arrests, citations and warnings were also issued for speeding (40), open container (26), minor in possession of alcohol (10), misdemeanor drug possession (41), driving under suspension (9), seat belt (22), and child restraint violations (23).

Captain Balthazor said, “Through voluntary compliance and cooperation from the motoring public we can work together to help keep our roadways safe for everyone.” ###
